Suspect captured in woods after Madison County home invasion

MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A suspect, accused in a violent home invasion, has been arrested after hiding out in the woods.

The Madison County Sheriff's Office is still trying to piece together what actually happened at a home off Peyton Town Road, south of Richmond, on Monday night. Officials with the Sheriff's Office tell WKYT that Pamela Horn was at the home of Danny Ashcraft early Tuesday morning, when Jason Blair broke into the residence. A struggle ensued and both Blair and Ashcraft sustained injuries.

Police say that during the altercation, Horn, who police believe is friends with Blair, stole the victim's car, crashing just a mile down the road.

When police arrived at the home they found Ashcraft with stab wounds and transported him to a hospital in Berea.

Officials found Horn and Blair walking down the road about a mile from the scene and arrested both on outstanding warrants.

Blair, who had visible injuries to his arm, was taken to UK Hospital where he was treated and released. He is now being held in the Fayette County Detention Center on an outstanding warrant out of Rockcastle County. Horn is in the Madison County Detention Center on an outstanding warrant as well.

At this time, police believe this was an attempted burglary gone wrong, and that Horn and Blair most likely set up the victim.

Ashcraft has since been treated and released.

Police are looking into what relationship, if any, was between Blair and Ashcraft.

Police plan to officially charge the two later Tuesday.
