Suspect on run after attempted early morning robbery

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Officers are searching for a man they say attempted to rob a manager at gunpoint at a Spur Oil Station in Laurel County early Thursday morning.

A man came into the Spur Oil Station on US-25 E around 4:30 Thursday morning.

A manager for the station was walking across the parking lot when officers say the gunman left the store and got in his vehicle. They say he drove over in his car, stuck a pistol out of the window and demanded money.

The manager was able to get away before being robbed and was able to call 911.

The suspect fled the scene in a white colored Dodge Crew Cab Dooley Pickup.

The manager describes the victim as 6'1", 200 pounds, wearing a grey Kentucky hooded sweatshirt, warm up pants and black tennis shoes trimmed in white.
