Suspect sought in smash-and-grab at Lincoln County gas station

STANFORD, Ky. (WKYT) - Police are searching for possible suspects after a break-in at a Central Kentucky gas station.

It happened early Thursday morning at the Marathon Gas station on Frontier Boulevard in Stanford. Police say someone used a rock to smash out a window and climb inside to steal cigarettes.

Police say they have surveillance video showing the theft and an accomplice waiting in a get-away car outside the station.

Police say the crime is similar to another break-in at the D&M Market in Crab Orchard where someone broke out a window. They say in that case, someone set off an alarm and was likely spooked. Nothing was stolen during that attempted break-in.
