Suspected bank robber arrested

CORBIN, Ky. (WKYT/WYMT) -- Police say they arrested Evelyn Maxie Friday night at the Barborville WalMart.

The robbery happened Friday afternoon at the PNC bank robbery on Cumberland Gap Parkway in Corbin.

Clerks say a woman came into the bank wearing a hat and sunglasses and passed a note to the teller saying she had a gun and wanted $10,000.

Police say they recovered most of the stolen money.

Maxie is listed in the Knox County Detention Center.
