Suspected sexual predator arrested in Franklin County

FRANKFORT, KY. (WKYT) - Eric Jockers, 22, has been arrested in Franklin County for having sex with teenage girls, according to sheriff's deputies. Authorities say Jockers used Facebook to contact teen girls, first asking them for pictures, and eventually sex. The Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney says the investigation began when the principal at Western Hills High School made a disturbing discovery.

"There was a lot of naked photos of some of the female students there circulating around," said Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney Zachery Becker.

She let the school's resource officer know about the pictures, and the sheriff's office began trying to track down where they came from. They interviewed one of the girls and she led police to Jockers. She said he'd coerced her into sending him the pictures, then shared them with other people.

Police subpoenaed his Facebook records and brought him in for an interview. Becker says they found four victims and Jockers admitted to having sex with a 14, 16 and 17 year old, and having a sexual encounter with another 14-yearold.

"I know that when Mr. Jockers was being interviewed, when it came up that he admitted to having sex with the 14-year-old, he said 'yeah that was the worst, that's when I realized I was becoming a monster,'" said Becker.

Becker says there may be more victims out there. Jockers was indicted Tuesday on six counts of unlawful transaction with a minor but could soon be facing more charges related to child pornography because of those pictures.

"We're seeing more and more of these adult males preying on these young girls," said Becker.

Franklin County Sheriff Pat Melton tells WKYT his office is searching for more victims in this case. He says if they're out there they should contact police.
