LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) Police say they are looking into the possibility that the same man was behind two overnight robberies at hotels in Lexington on Monday.
The first robbery happened just after midnight, at the Microtel on Winchester Road, near the Interstate. Police say he pointed a gun at the clerk, and got away with cash. He's described as a broad-shouldered white man, wearing a navy sweatshirt and a toboggan.
Hours later, police were called to the Clarion Hotel on Newtown Pike. A man similar to the suspect's description, but wearing different clothes, had robbed the clerk at gunpoint.
They are not yet saying that the two robberies are connected, but the descriptions of the suspects are similar.
Police say they are watching surveillance footage to see if the man can be identified.
