Swimming advisories issued for 3 Kentucky rivers

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT/WYMT) - State leaders say people should not swim in parts of three Kentucky rivers because tests have shown high levels of e-coli bacteria.

They say swimming advisories will be in effect in the upper Cumberland River, between Pineville and Harlan. Also, the north fork of the Kentucky River in Perry County and the Licking River near the Ohio River.

State leaders do say water quality in the north fork of the Kentucky River has been improving.
