FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - There's a new way to tip off police and still remain anonymous.

On Thursday Frankfort Police announced a way to text a tip to crimestoppers. All you have to do is text 2-7-4-6-3-7 then type in the letters F-C-S, which stands for Frankfort Crimestoppers, and then type in your tip.

According to Frankfort Police, you can remain anonymous because the phone number goes to a third party server in Canada. Your phone number is then erased but the message is sent to Frankfort.

Each tip is given an ID number that will be given to you. If your information leads to the arrest and conviction of that crime you could receive up to $1,000 from Frankfort Crimestoppers.
