The cold front is now working into eastern Kentucky with winds gusting to near 40mph at times. Temps have dropped into the 30s behind the front and we've had reports of sleet and snow mixing with the rain in Lexington.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Tonight's game at Commonwealth Stadium was the first to feel the tailgating changes recently made by Uk President Eli Capilouto.
Those changes included no alcohol, bands or Dj's along Cooper Drive, between Sportscenter Drive and University Drive.
This two-weeks after a fight broke out at during the Western game.
Lexington Police reported very few problems Saturday night. Officer's arrested just one person in the Cooper Drive area. They were called to several off-campus houses for reports of unruly tailgating, but there were no major problems.
"It's quiet, very peaceful," said Patrick Lindsey. "It's normally ridiculous out here."
Lindsey said he welcomed the change, but others said differently.
"It's dead out here, they just squeezed all the fun out of tailgating," said Jeff Davis.
"I understand the presidents reasons for doing it, but it really takes away from the experience," said one UK Junior.
President Capilouto said these changes were necessary following several incidents two-weeks ago, including that fight. Capilouto said that type of behavior would "not be tolerated."
University and city officials will meet next week to discuss if these changes will be made permanent.
