Lincoln County, Ky. (WKYT/WYMT) - The intended target of the alleged murder for hire plot is 82 year old Lois Goode of Hustonville. She was in a Stanford courtoom courtroom Friday morning as the 4 women charged in the crime made their first appearance before a judge.
Police say Jessica Callahan orchestrated the murder for hire plot. Police think she wanted to kill Lois Goode because Goode’s daughter broke off a relationship with Callahan. Autumn Drass and Taquisha Horton are accused of breaking into Goode’s house, but instead of finding the 82 year old woman home…they came face to face with Hustonville’s police chief..who was called when an observant neighbor called police when he saw the carload of women pull up. Goode watched as the 3 and Carrie Zimmera, who police say was with the women the day of the burglary …pleaded not guilty to attempted murder charges.
“I would like to thank the Lord, for me not being there, and I would like to my good neighbor, Joe Taylor, he’s the one that saw them go in,” said Goode after the court hearing.
All 4 women pleaded not guilty and the judge set a pre-trial hearing for November 9th. He said the trials for the woman could begin in early 2013.
