A former Kentucky teacher who admitted to having sex with two students won't be serving any time in jail.

42-year-old Shannon Hirchert received five years probation during a hearing in Shelby County Monday.

She used to be a special needs teacher at Martha Layne Collins High School in Shelbyville. Police say the teenagers she had sex with were aides in her classroom.

Hirchert's attorney says his client is ready to put this all behind her.

As part of the plea deal, Hirchert will also be placed on the sex offender registry and she won't be allowed to teach in Kentucky or any other state.

She also has to complete a sex offender treatment program.
