Teen seriously injured with homemade zipline

A young teen is seriously injured after being strangled by a homemade zipline.

The Laurel County Sheriff's Office says the 13-year-old boy was playing with the device Saturday afternoon at a home just south of London.

WKYT is told the zipline got tangled around the boy's neck, severely injuring him before he was pulled free.

He was flown to UK Hospital in critical condition. His name is not being released.
