A major winter storm is on the way to the bluegrass state. Local high water issues are possible early Wednesday and that will be followed up by heavy snow and sleet. Significant accumulations are likely Wednesday night and Thursday.
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - Two teens face charges after a police chase.
At 12:36 Wednesday morning, a Frankfort Police officer tried to pull over a speeding vehicle on US 127. Police say the driver accelerated the vehicle and refused to pull over. The vehicle then turned onto Woodhill Lane. The driver lost control of the car and crashed on Pin Oak Place.
The officer say two people got out of the vehicle and took off running. After a short foot pursuit, one of the subjects was caught. The other was located by a K-9 unit.
Police say their subsequent investigation revealed that the vehicle the suspects were in was stolen from the Walmart parking lot, where it had been left for service.
18-year old Joshua Stigers with speeding, reckless driving, fleeing and evading police, driving without a license, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief.
Matthew Lewis, 18, of Frankfort, was charged with receiving stolen property, fleeing & evading and criminal mischief.
Both were lodged in the Franklin County Regional Jail.
