"Fayette Mall is a wonderful shopping destination with an impressive roster of tenants," said Alethea Rowe, Senior Director of Public Relations, The Cheesecake Factory Incorporated. "The Cheesecake Factory is excited to be opening our second restaurant in Kentucky at the Fayette Mall, and we look forward to serving guests from the local community."
Joining fashion retailer H&M and its new two-story, 23,000 square-foot location and a new main entrance to the mall will be Clarks Shoes and Jos. A. Bank Clothiers' third Lexington location.
After Fayette Mall officials abruptly canceled a news conference Tuesday saying it hadn't finalized plans, the mall's parent company issued a release announcing the expansion and some of the additions. Sketches on the revamped Sears space show space for nearly two dozen other stores.
"We are excited to bring both The Cheesecake Factory and H&M to Lexington to further solidify Fayette Mall's status as one of the premier shopping destinations in Lexington and the region," said Stephen Lebovitz, president and chief executive officer of CBL & Associates.
Mall officials hope to have the new shops open by the holidays.
In January, the Sears store which was one of the original retailers at Fayette Mall closed because of the chain's declining sales.
