HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - He has traveled to hundreds of college campuses across the country playing songs by request.

On Sept. 18, administrators at Hazard Community and Technical College brought a man known as "The Human iPod" to their technical campus.

Many call him that because he can play more than 60 hours of music from memory.

“I don't know how he remembers it, he's got to play a lot I guess,” said Michael Bargo, an HCTC student.

“John Rush is one of the most talented college performers in the nation really,” said Cluster Howard, Dean of Student Life, Engagement and Wellness. he does over 200 shows a year.

The Huntsville, AL, native traveled to eastern Kentucky to perform at HCTC for a late celebration of Constitution Day.

Administrators said they hoped that by bringing in entertainment, more people would get in on the educational experience.

“It's great that the college supports this event and all the professors came out and brought the students,” said Howard.

People said they enjoyed the entertainment...

“He's really good how he loops his songs back and plays them over, that takes a lot of talent,” said Bargo.

Howard said Rush would head to Jackson on Sept. 19 to perform at the HCTC campus in Breathitt County.
