Showers arrived in the area on Wednesday. The coverage was never widespread or intense by any means. Just some nuisance activity. Those clouds and showers kept temperatures down all across Central & Eastern Kentucky.
Another round of scattered showers and storms will be possible on Thursday. A warm front will lift through the area and get a little more moisture going in the atmosphere. This means a few more showers and storms will be possible. Not non-stop rain, but plenty of scattered storms.
A cold front will swing into Kentucky late Friday and into Saturday. The front will trigger better chances of showers and storms. Not just the isolated stuff... more widespread activity. At the same time there is a tropical system trying to develop that could really have an impact on our weekend pattern. If this system comes together it could feed plenty of moisture into Kentucky. It could also slow the front down and bring heavier amounts of rain to the area.
We'll be watching the progress very closely.
