Trick or treat hours will find temps dropping through the 30s with gusty winds and some rain and snow filling the air. Wraparound band of snow moves in Friday night into Saturday morning across central and eastern Kentucky. That's the one that could drop some light accumulations on grassy areas and elevated surfaces.
GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WKYT) - Some businesses in Georgetown had to spend the morning cleaning up after someone broke in and stole some unusual items.
Melissa Golden discovered the glass broken out of a window where she works as a hairdresser around 7:30 this morning.
"Scary...I didn't know if anyone was still in there," she said.
They don't keep cash inside, but Golden says the thief apparently had their eyes on something else.
"We had quite a few items missing. Retail products, jewelry. They even went as far as stealing some scissors and blow dryers," said Golden.
That can actually add up to quite a bit of money.
"Blow dryers can range from $100-$300. Scissors, $300-$500 for a nice pair," said Golden.
Across the parking lot, two more businesses were hit, including a dentist's office. Dr. Stan Scalf says the thief didn't do much damage, but stole some nitrous oxide.
"It was just a little bit strange in that you expect to see more damage to the property," Scalf said.
Police say surveillance video captured this person walking around the area. They're calling him a person of interest.
Detectives with the Georgetown Police Department ask that anyone who recognizes the person in the surveillance video give them a call. They're also concerned that whoever has the nitrous oxide could injure themselves if they try to ingest it.
