Thief steals, crashes Jessamine Co. deputy coroner's SUV

JESSAMINE COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Police are looking for the person who stole a deputy coroner's vehicle and then crashed it into a utility pole.

Police in Jessamine County say the SUV was stolen overnight, then wrecked on Bethany Road, near Union Mill Road. The driver left the scene.

The deputy coroner told police he woke up and noticed his SUV missing from his driveway. The vehicle was not a coroner's van, but the official's personal vehicle.

Police say the SUV suffered heavy damage in the crash.

Utility crews are at the scene trying to repair the pole.
