Thief hits during Legends game

Lexington Police are looking for thieves who struck at the Whitaker Bank ballpark Wednesday night.

Police say the thief entered the visiting team’s locker room during the game and stole wallets containing cash, credit cards and ID’s. Thirteen players from the West Virginia Power professional baseball team were targeted. Several cell phones and personal electronics were also stolen as well as one passport.

"If anyone was at the ballpark and saw anything, heard anything, that looked suspicious, we need you to give us a call. Any tip will help in a case like this," said Lexington Police Spokesperson, Sherelle Roberts.

At this point, the estimated value of the stolen property is over $9,000.00. Police say It is believed the theft occurred sometime between 7:00pm and 9:30pm.

A spokesman for the Legends said the organization cannot comment at this time because it is an on-going investigation.
