Third deadly motorcycle crash in Scott Co. in three weeks

SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - In Scott County, the sheriff's office has worked three deadly motorcycle crashes in the last three weeks. The sheriff says none of the victims wore a helmet.

The most recent crash happened Wednesday night on Long Lick Pike.

Investigators say Mikhael Jones lost control of his motorcycle on curve and hit a pickup.

The sheriff says there's a lesson to be learned from these crashes.

"I would like people in our community to consider wearing a helmet and if they don't have one
buy a helmet. All of these three if they had their helmet on they could have survived these collisions," says Sheriff Tony Hampton.

In Kentucky, it is not against the law to ride a motorcycle without a helmet.
