Police: Man tied up, tortured for hours in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky, (WKYT) - Three men are behind bars on assault and unlawful imprisonment charges. Lexington police say Marquist Jones, Michael Berry and Iricke Clay tied a man up and beat him for hours.

The crime happened at an apartment on Pimlico Parkway. Marquist Jones is charged with unlawful imprisonment, violating a protective order, and possession of a handgun by a felon. Michael Berry and Iricke Clay are charged with unlawful imprisonment and assault. Police say they had a disagreement with a man, tied him up, and beat him with their fists, their feet, and a hammer for more than six hours. The victim went to police with serious injuries. Investigators say he looked like he'd been strangled.

"The victim in this case has been taken the University of Kentucky Medical Center where he's receiving treatment," says Sherelle Roberts with Lexington Police. "In pretty bad condition at this point, but it's believed that he will survive.

Police say no one else was involved in the assault. They do believe all four individuals involved knew one another.
