LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A squall line producing frequent lightning, hail, and gusty winds will continue to move east through the evening as cold front moves across Kentucky, according to WKYT meteorologist Kari Hall.

At 8:30 p.m., WKYT Facebook friend Lisa Belongia reported hail over the north side of Lexington as another round of thunderstorms moved through central Kentucky. Earlier in the evening, other WKYT Facebook friends shared pictures of hail accumulating on the ground in Scott and Franklin counties.

Strong thunderstorms continue to push into Kentucky's eastern counties, dumping heavy rain and small hail. Other threats with these storms include strong winds and dangerous lighting.

Hall expects temperatures will fall overnight into the mid 30s with rain coming to an end. Tuesday will be cooler with skies gradually clearing and highs in the mid to upper 40s.

"We'll see a rebound in temps as warm air surges in ahead of a stronger cold front set to arrive on Thursday.," said Hall. "Rain could move in as early as Wednesday night ahead of the front. Then temps will plummet as the front blows through Thursday. We'll go from the 40s to the upper teens as rain changes to snow."

Snow showers look to continue through Friday as cold air settles in, according to Hall.
