Time capsule being reburied at the University of Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - A time capsule buried under University of Kentucky housing for nearly six decades is about to be reburied along with some items from the present day.

A ceremony is being held Monday morning near Woodland Glen student housing. The capsule was found under Cooperstown housing, which was razed in preparation for the Woodland Glen project.

UK Director of Housing Implementation Penny Cox told WUKY-FM (http://bit.ly/1gYxYuN ) that the contents from 1956 were inside a fabric-wrapped container. Among the items inside were newspapers, a K Book student guide and a class schedule.

The old items are going back into the capsule along with similar items from 2014 as well as information about a fundraising dance marathon called DanceBlue and the 75th anniversary brochure of the student center.

The new capsule will also include a marker.
