Heavy rain threat through tonight

By  |

The tornado watch has expired, but rounds of showers and thunderstorms continue across central and eastern Kentucky.

The overall severe weather threat continues to diminish as one final line of storms works in. Gusty winds and hail is still possible with this line over the next few hours.

Heavy rainfall looks to be the main threat overnight and this could lead to flash flooding. A flash flood watch is out for all of central and eastern Kentucky into Thursday morning.

Showers, gusty winds and much cooler air will settle in for Thursday. Highs may not get out of the 50s. Lows by Friday morning may reach the upper 30s in some areas.

Isolated afternoon showers and storms will be possible Friday and Saturday as cool temps remain.
