Tornado confirmed in Marion County, child injured

MARION COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A family says there lucky to be alive after a tornado flipped their mobile home early Wednesday morning.

Jeremy and Pam Colvin were home with their three children when the storm hit in Marion County just before 6:00 a.m.

The Colvins tell us the storm picked up their trailer and flipped it over. Their eight-year-old son suffered a bad cut to his foot, he's being treated at a local hospital.

The Marion County Emergency management Director tells us he believes it was a weak tornado that caused the damage along Calvary Road near the Taylor County line.

The National Weather Service surveyed the damage and confirmed a tornado with winds around 70 miles an hour.
