Toyota's US expansion could impact Kentucky

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WKYT) - More jobs could soon be coming to Georgetown.

Toyota says it's looking to expand production in the US, particularly of it's popular Lexus ES Sedan.

The Wall Street Journal reports the Japanese yen continues to rise, making business in the US more cost effective.

The company's US chief told the Journal the Georgetown plant is a likely candidate for expansion. The factory currently makes the Camry which shares the same underpinnings as the Lexus ES.
