Our work week is off and running on a steamy note with a few storms joining in the party. This burst of summer air is about to be replaced in a big time way. I’m tracking a shot of chilly air that’s set to arrive later this week into the coming weekend. This should be the coldest air since the spring.
Temps early this week will run in the mid and upper 80s for much of central and eastern Kentucky. A few areas will see the occasional 90. Temps will continue to be touch and go based on the impact from scattered storms that go up.
The blast of chill shows up behind a strong cold front that sweeps in here late Thursday into Thursday night. Highs for Friday and Saturday will struggle to get into the low 70s. Lows will drop into the 40s over the weekend.
