Temps in the 70s and sunny skies dominate the weather across the bluegrass state on this Tuesday. Unfortunately... big changes are on the way for Wednesday.
A storm system will roll across the state Wednesday and set the stage for a wild swing. Rain and thunder works in later Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. Temps during that time will be in the 50s in many areas. Winds will gust as temps crash from west to east. Afternoon temps will drop through the 30s and wind up in the 20s by early evening.
That sets us up for rain changing to snow. Some light accumulations will be possible by Wednesday evening. Leftover snow showers and flurries will end Wednesday night as readings drop into the teens. Wind chill readings might be near zero to start the day Thursday.
Highs Thursday will stay in the 30s, and windy conditions will make it feel even colder.
We rebound toward the low 50s by Friday and Saturday.
