Semi crash shut down part of I-75 near Madison, Fayette line

FAYETTE COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) -- An accident involving two tractor-trailers shut down part of I-75 at the Madison-Fayette County Line.

It happened at the Clays Ferry Bridge Sunday night. At one point in time police had all three lanes of Northbound I-75 blocked while they worked the accident and attempted to clear the scene.

Police say the tail end of one semi went over the concrete barrier and into part of the southbound emergency lane blocking traffic.

Drivers were detoured at exit 97 northbound in Madison County.

The accident was cleared around 2:30 a.m. and all lanes were back open by around 3 a.m.
