Traffic alerts for world's longest yard sale

MERCER COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - If you're heading to the world's longest yard sale this weekend, police and vendors have a safety alert for you.

The yard sale runs down Highway 127 from Michigan through Kentucky and down to Alabama.

Police say some people are parking in dangerous places and are not paying attention when they pull back out into traffic.

Police in Mercer County say they've worked some accidents already.

"They don't have to park on the road, which is actually illegal. People need to know that it's very dangerous, it's really not allowed. So you need to go into the area if you're going to do some picking. Be sure you're off the road and safe," said Mike Young of Twin Hills Drive-in.

Police say they will issue citations if they continue to see traffic violations at the yard sale.
