SHELBYVILLE, Ky. (WKYT) - Investigators have identified a man they say was killed in a crash on Interstate 64 in Shelby County Thursday.
Police say 38-year-old Charles E. Moore, of Frankfort, died after his pickup slammed into the back of a large recycling truck.
The crash happened in the westbound lanes at the 35 mile marker, near Shelbyville, just after 3:30 p.m.
Police say the recycling truck was slowing down in traffic at the time of the crash.
The Shelby County coroner pronounced Moore dead at the scene. The driver of the recycling truck was not injured.
Police say Moore was not wearing a seat belt.
The westbound lanes were closed for several hours after the crash, but they reopened just after 7 p.m.
