Very slow moving showers and thunderstorms will move into our area overnight and Sunday. The potential for flooding will be heightened in southern and eastern Kentucky.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Some Big Blue Nation faithful had a hard time returning to Lexington, due to delayed flights.
Seven flights from Atlanta landed at the Blue Grass Airport on Sunday evening. About half of those flights had some type of weather delay. For UK fans on board, it meant waiting a little longer to get home.
Bonnie Small and her husband were on one of the fortunate flights. Their plane landed on time.
The couple spent the weekend in Atlanta, supporting the Wildcats in the conference tournament.
"It was nice in Atlanta," said Small. "We got home, it was snowing. Just bad weather."
The Smalls saw the men's team win two tournament games, but they couldn't stay for the final game. She's not discouraged by the loss.
"They'll come out of this and be great."
