Coach John Calipari has a special relationship with the man behind the R.J. Corman Railroad.
Coach Cal and Rick Corman first met in Memphis when the coach flew to Lexington to take the UK job.
Coach Cal comes from a working man's family in the coal business from Pennsylvania. His grandfather was a coal miner. Cal says he respects Corman's down home, hard working and honest approach to life.
Corman has fought cancer for more than a decade. For the last three years, Coach Cal has offered up prayers and calls of support. Both men feel blessed to be here and experiencing a special year together.
Corman offered up his train for part of the UK National Championship tour around the state.
It's not the first time Coach Cal has taken a ride on Corman's train. Corman has taken Coach Cal and his family to the Kentucky Derby by train.
