PRINCETON, Ky. (AP) - A water line break in the western Kentucky city of Princeton has forced the closure of a truck route through the city.
The Transportation Cabinet says repairs are expected to take at least 24 hours. In the meantime, engineers are trying to work out a detour. The cabinet says the closure Wednesday essentially halts truck traffic to and from Princeton via Kentucky 139 to Interstate 24 and points south of Princeton.
The Kentucky 139-Kentucky 293 truck route is closed near the intersection with Vine and Railroad streets. The route carries truck traffic around a railroad viaduct with low clearance.
Passenger vehicles and small trucks may use Jefferson Street, but officials warn drivers of small trucks to be aware of the low viaduct clearance.
Some 3,600 vehicles use the route daily.
