Hurricane Sandy slammed the east coast last night bringing very strong winds and rain. We are on the better side of this system where snow will be our main concern. Snow has been falling heavily in the mountains and up to 10" has been reported in higher elevations. Through Wednesday snow will continue off and on for eastern KY. Elsewhere we can expect gusty winds, cloudy skies, and light rain. Highs on Tuesday will only reach into the low 40s. A rain/snow mix will be possible through the day with little to no accumulation. By Wednesday the chance of precipitation will decrease but chilly temperatures will remain with highs in the upper 40s. The rest of the week will feature a gradual warm up and fair skies.
