Local radio show nominated for CMA

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The 2012 Country Music Awards are just around the corner and two of very own from Lexington have been nominated for an award.

Officer Don Evans and DeAnn Stephens, from 98.1 The Bull, have been nominated for 'Radio Personality of The Year."

"This is such an honor," explains DeAnn Stephens, "people usually think this ceremony is only about music and stars but they also award radio shows and other personalities."

More than 2,000 radio shows from across the country submitted for the award. "I mean, we never thought we had a chance at this," explains Officer Don Evans, "we submitted thinking 'why not?' and then to find out we are a top five finalist? Wow. So rewarding and so awesome."

The awards ceremony is on November 1st in Nashville.
