Two arrested after deadly shooting in Harlan County

HARLAN, Ky. (WKYT) -- Police say drugs are a possible motive for a murder in southern Kentucky last night.

State police say they found Damiano Delaney, 30, dead in a yard off highway 5-22 in Harlan County.

Police arrested Jody Cooper, 25, and Justin Miller, 28, at the scene.
Police say Delaney was shot several times inside the home and investigators believe the suspects were trying to hide the body.

"We feel these two individuals were going to relocate the body; however, we showed up at the scene and placed both of these individuals under arrest," Shane Jacobs, with Kentucky State Police.

Miller and Cooper are facing murder and several other charges, including abuse of a corpse.

Their bond is set at half a million dollars.
