RICHMOND, Ky. (WKYT) - A husband and wife are facing serious charges after police say they left their infant daughter inside a car as they went shopping.

The Richmond Police Department says on Friday, they were called to the Kohl's parking lot, where they say a 3-month-old child was left alone in a vehicle for almost an hour, as outside temperatures dipped below freezing.

The infant was rescued from the vehicle and did not appear to be injured.

Police arrested 34-year-old Haitham Alsahli and 25-year-old Kalih Ghadeer, both of Manchester, KY. The two have been charged with wanton endangerment and endangering the welfare of a minor. They were taken to Madison County Detention Center where they've both bonded out.

Family services workers took custody of the infant and another small child found inside the store with the parents.
