Very slow moving showers and thunderstorms will move into our area overnight and Sunday. The potential for flooding will be heightened in southern and eastern Kentucky.
MARION COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Neighbors say they saw flames shooting straight up from the home of Tommy and Mary Rose Cundiff, a couple whose home was made up of several trailers put together.
"It was old trailers. And they go up in flames so quick. And they put several trailers together," said friend Mark Clark.
Police say multiple sources were used to heat the home.
Relatives question if that's behind the cause.
"It's really tragic to have this happen so close to home," said Clark.
Police say it could been some time before a cause is known...ice..from water used to put out the fire...now covers everything, making the investigation difficult.
In such a small close knit community neighbors say the loss is hard to take, especially in knowing the victims.
"He never turned his back on nobody. Tommy was a good guy. He kept to himself when he was older, but when he was younger he was a laughable, cut up kind of guy. He was a good guy," said Clark.
Kentucky state police were called to investigate the cause but no foul play is suspected.
