PERRY COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A house fire in the Busy community of Perry County has claimed the lives of two people.
Police say firefighters found the bodies of a man and a woman inside the burned home Friday night. Officials are still investigating who or what caused the fire.
We're told firefighters found a man and woman dead inside the home, while fighting the flames.
Both bodies have been sent to Frankfort for an autopsy.
They say the rubble was still too hot Friday night to investigate, so they came back Saturday to sift through what was left.
"We're back on the scene trying to determine the point of origin of the fire. Our arson investigators are here, along with several other investigators," said Detective Gary Sandlin with Kentucky State Police.
The man and woman's identification and cause of death are still unknown. Troopers tell us the man's body was found outside the home, and the woman's was found inside.
