LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Police are investigating two early morning robberies near the UK campus.
The first happened around 1:00 Thursday morning at an apartment complex on Red Mile Road.
There, police say a gunman walked into an apartment and held up two men inside. Police say the gunman got away with cell phones and computers.
Police tell WKYT a second man was waiting outside for the gunman. After robbing the men inside, they both took off running.
Lexington police have only limited descriptions of the two men.
Moments later, and just a few blocks away, police responded to another robbery.
This one happened on Bonnie Brae Drive, that's near South Limestone and Virginia Avenue.
There, police say a man had just gotten home and was upstairs when he heard a noise on the first floor.
Police say he went downstairs to find five men inside his apartment.
He told police the men took off with his computer, phone and wallet.
In both cases, no one was hurt.
Although the two crimes happened close in proximity and time, police tell WKYT they do not think they are related.
