Two plead guilty in Morgan County kickback scheme

MORGAN COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Two eastern Kentucky construction firm owners accused in a kickback scheme have each entered a guilty plea in federal court. Our news partners at the Lexington Herald-Leader report that Kenneth and Ruth Gambill pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering. They'll be sentenced in November.

Investigators say the couple worked with Morgan County Judge-Executive Tim Conley to steer more than $1 million in county construction contracts their way. Conley will go on trial next month.
