Two house fires back to back

Two house fires back to back kept one fire department busy Sunday morning in Harlan County.

The first fire sparked at 5:30 a.m. at a home on Kingdom Come Drive also known as Old Highway 119 in Cumberland.

Fire officials say this home was halfway burned and no one was injured.

The second call was received at 10:30 a.m. for a fire at a house next door to the first burned home.

This home, also on Kingdom Come Drive, was destroyed.

Fire officials at the Cumberland Volunteer Fire Department are still investigating the cause of both fires.
