We're learning more about an overnight stabbing that landed two people in the hospital. Police say two men were stabbed on Stacy Lane Road in Estill County.

A lot of questions still surround what led up to this stabbing and exactly who stabbed who.

One man is now being treated at UK Hospital for a stab wound in his side.

Family members living in a home on Stacy Lane Road say two men showed up overnight suffering from stab wounds.

They say Jeff Collet was stabbed in his right side below the ribs, and Tim Stanley had cuts on his arm.

Collett, they say, is dating the woman who lives in the home. Stanley is a neighbor.

According to those family members, the two men were attacked by someone while walking down the road.

But, neighbors in the area have a different explanation.

"A couple of days ago, the two guys that got cut and stabbed were fighting over a woman," says Wanda Thacker, who lives on Stacy Lane Road.

She says that tension has been brewing for some time.

"They've been fighting over her for two weeks. Jeff had threatened Tim and told him he was going to cut him."

The Estill County Sheriffs Department, who is handling the case, wasn't available for comments.

Collett was airlifted to UK Hospital and was in stable condition as of Thursday afternoon.

Stanley was treated and released from a hospital in Estill County.

No one has been arrested.
