Couple robbed at gunpoint in home invasion

Police are investigating a home invasion where the robbers got inside by prying open the back door while the homeowners were sleeping.

It happened early Thursday morning on Crosby Drive, just off Trent Boulevard, in Lexington.

Police say the robbers were armed with a gun and got away with two wallets and a cell phone. They had their faces covered with bandannas.

So far, police have not made any arrests.

The victim wanted to remain anonymous. But he tells WKYT that he was asleep inside with his girlfriend and two children. He says he wakes up to find two intruders at his bed side, one with a crow bar and another with a gun to his head. He says it scared him half to death.

Within minutes, the victim says the intruders collected wallets, keys to the house and car, and a woman's purse.

No one was hurt.

Sue Wagers lives next door to the family and is in disbelief something like this could happen on her street. "It make you really kind of leery."

With two intruders still on the run, Wagers doesn't feel safe in her own home, "I'm ready to go look for some other place to live. You know my grand kids come over here and I don't like this."
