Scattered showers and storms continue to push across the region. Local high water issues remain possible through the evening.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The UK men's basketball team isn't the only one in the Sweet 16 for Lexington. The UK Hoops team is as well. On Saturday, they continue their quest to reach the school's first final four.
Bria Goss scored 17 points and third-seeded Kentucky survived No. 6 seed Syracuse 64-59 on Monday night in the second round of the NCAA tournament, sending them to the Sweet 16.
The team is actually just up the road from the men, who are in Indianapolis. They're playing two hours away in South Bend in a rematch from back in December with two-seeded Baylor which went into four overtime rounds, with UK women coming out on top, winning 133-130.
Coach Matthew Mitchell says team goals are still within reach, but it's a one game season this weekend.
"What we tried to talk about yesterday (Wednesday) was getting our mind off the final four, and getting our mind on Baylor. Can't go if you don't win Saturday. We're going to just do everything we can to prepare well to beat Baylor, and we'll see how the season stacked up when the last game's played," Mitchell told us on Thursday.
You can catch their game Saturday at noon on ESPN. The winner will face Notre Dame or Oklahoma State in the regional final Monday night.
