LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - In anticipation of bad weather this weekend, many UK fans are flying to Dallas early, in hopes of missing any delays.
Kenya Kinard is a UK alum who's been planning on going to the game in Dallas since the summer. But, the threat of winter weather is putting a dent in those plans.
"I'm really nervous about the weather," says Kenya Kinard, UK fan flying to Dallas. "I was looking at the Weather Channel all night last night to see how it was going to be going. I have to fly from Lexington to Chicago to Dallas. I have friends in Dallas. Right now they say it's 40 degrees and it's supposed to be in the teens tonight."
Kinard says he's also been keeping a close eye on the radar.
He says, "It was like a wave of bad weather, so hopefully it will subside."
Kinard believes he will probably have a longer visit to Texas than what he originally planned.
"I don't think I'm going to make it back Monday because the way it looks we're going to get ice and snow Sunday night," Kinard says. "So I might be down there for a while so that's why I packed heavy."
He even tried to change to an earlier flight, but wasn't able to.
"I was trying my best to leave yesterday," says Kinard. "As long as I get there before they tip off, I'm happy."
Bluegrass Airport officials say to get to the airport early if you're expecting any delays.
