General showers will be the main action over the next few hours. A few could remain on the strong to severe side in eastern parts of Kentucky.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Hundreds of of Kentucky fans flew out of Blue Grass Airport on Friday as part of a group that had chartered flights to Dallas.
"I promised my family that if we went this time we were going to go, so here we are," said Jeff Carter, a UK fan from Breathitt County.
It's a trip some of the fans were surprised to be taking.
"I didn't think we were going to go to the Final Four till now," said Ty Carter.
"We had seen some of Calipari's magic in the SEC (Tournament) so we were excited to get to the NCAA," Lynn Parrish said before boarding his plane with his wife, Jessica.
Now that the cats are in the Final Four, those fans were happy to be along for the ride.
"We were worried about the Cats, but they came through," said Michael McKinney. "When you've got a great coach, and great players, it's what happens."
The fans were part of a group of 420 people that flew out of Blue Grass Airport on three different planes. They say the ride was one that would be memorable.
"It's just going to be great, everyone you run into just cannot wait to get there," Jessica Parrish said.
And they only have one hope for the return trip.
"Bringing home the championship trophy," Jeff Carter said.
The fans are scheduled to return on Tuesday.
