LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Without Nerlens Noel Kentucky has won three in a row. After Wednesday night's 30-point win over Mississippi State, John Calipari again brought up a statement he attributed to freshman Willie Cauley-Stein. "I think Willie's comment is the mantra we're rolling with right now. 'I'm gonna do my job, you do your job.'"
Cauley-Stein said he said something like that. "I've been branded, I said something similar to that, not exactly like that. But ya know, hes branded it on me, I guess I'll just run with it."
Calipari explained players are now taking responsibility to do their job on the court. "So now Ryan's (Harrow) doing his job and makes it easier on everybody on the team. Julius (Mays) is doing his job, we need him doing the things that he's doing. Ya know, Alex (Poythress) is playing better, well it makes everything a lot easier for everybody."
Cauley-Stein said he's having fun because everyone else is. "When they're doing their thing and getting their points, ya know, having their fun and that allows me to have my fun. Now teams are worried about them and I can kind of sneak in and get easy buckets and lobs and more rebounds because they're preoccupied with everybody else."
