LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - The League of American Bicyclists has given the University of Kentucky an award for being bicycle-friendly.
UK says in a news release the school was one of only nine new universities to be named in the fall 2012 award class. The entire group named by the league includes 44 colleges in 25 states.
UK has recently added more bike lanes on and around campus, and upgraded some of its campus bicycle spaces.
The university next week is having a series of events surrounding biking, including the first Bike to Campus Day.
